Between Melodies And Achievements

There is a sound that resonates even before it is heard. It is born in repeated rehearsals, in the body that learns the precise timing of each step, in the breath that finds a shared rhythm. The marching band of the Instituto Educacional de Passo Fundo was not just music—it was social choreography, strategy, spectacle, and belonging. On the avenue, this sound expanded. It became presence. It became dispute. The sound still resonates.  

As it does on the fields and courts of the Methodist Games, where other bodies—also trained, also disciplined—traced in space the same pursuit: precision, achievement, recognition.

Between the impact of instruments and the tension of a sports final, between the gleam of batons and the exertion of competition, the same pulse still echoes: the desire for collective overcoming. A sound mind and a strong body!

This exhibition brings together these two dimensions—seeking, in history, texts, photographs, trophies and medals, and instruments, the cadence of music and the legacy of sport—as expressions of a pedagogy that has shaped, and continues to shape, generations to belong, to compete, and to celebrate.
